There is very little JavaScript and some designers call the static site a 'web-vertisement'. There's still work involved however, like positioning and color schemes, to make it look professional.

Dynamic sites use code to enhance interactivity, like rollover navigation and animations. The codes used to layout such sites will most likely be XHTML, CSS and JavaScript. They might even be database-driven sites using PHP or ASP. Flash is also a popular way to design a dynamic site with animation.
